NOTICE OF YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Privacy notice for Northern Lights Federal Credit Union members.

EXPLANATIONS:
NLFCU, us, we, and our, when used in this notice, refers specifically to Northern Lights Federal Credit Union. When we use the words “your” and “you” we are referring to these types of members: Northern Lights Federal Credit Union members who have a financial relationship by possessing specific financial services or products like: An Individual Retirement account, Share account, Debit card account, or Loan account. This notice will inform you of the information sources that we collect about you and the kinds of information we share, why and with whom. This notice also outlines the steps that we take to secure that information.

Definition of Terms:
Non public personal information is the term Northern Lights Federal Credit Union uses to define information about you that we collect to give you financial products or services. Non public personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, ie: State, Federal and local Government records, telephone directories, etc. From this point forward Northern Lights Federal Credit Union will refer to “information” as meaning non public personal information, as previously described. A subsidiary is an entity that Northern Lights Federal Credit Union owns. A nonaffiliated third party is a company or a person not employed by Northern Lights Federal Credit Union, and is not a subsidiary. This is referred to as a nonaffiliated third party, or “other party.”

INFORMATION NORTHERN LIGHTS COLLECTS
Information about you is gathered from:

• Each members financial transactions with other parties
• Consumer reporting agencies applications or other forms
• The verification customer information
• Each members financial transactions
• Documents verifying the information you provide on an application or other forms; this may come from your current or past employers, or from other financial institutions.
  

DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION TO PARTIES THAT
PROVIDE SERVICES TO US
In order for us to conduct normal business at NLFCU, we may disclose all of the non public personal information we collect, except for health information, to other companies that perform services on our behalf, for the purpose of processing and servicing transactions that you request or authorize, so that we may provide members competitive products and services. These disclosures generally contain information that allows us to conduct credit union operations, process transactions for you, protect and secure our financial records and expedite instructions that you authorize. Other entities that provide services for us include check protection agencies and credit bureaus. In order to protect your privacy, Northern Lights Federal Credit Union deals exclusively with entities that agree to strict confidentiality and limit the use of the information that we give them. None of these entities are allowed to sell any of the information that we provide to third parties or any others.

INFORMATION SECURITY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
Information about you is only available to the employees who need to know so that they may give you the services and products provided by NLFCU. The utmost care is taken to maintain and safeguard electronic, procedural and physical safeguards to protect your information and comply with federal standards pertaining to the storage and security of information about Northern Lights Federal Credit Union members, and to protect information about our members from destruction, unauthorized access, or alteration.

THE INFORMATION DISCLOSED ABOUT NLFCU MEMBERS
Except as permitted by law, Northern Lights Federal Credit Union doesn’t disclose any information to anyone. These disclosures could include information required to service your account or prevent unauthorized transactions. Except for information required to process loan applications, Northern Lights Federal Credit Union does not disclose health or medical information to third parties.

INFORMATION ABOUT FORMER MEMBERS
Unless permitted by law, Northern Lights Federal Credit Union does not disclose information about former members.

CHANGES
Northern Lights Federal Credit Union reserves the right to change this Privacy Notice at any time. Reasonable notice in writing will be provided by NLFCU should changes be imminent..
